CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SET THE SEASON IN PALMA!

Last night, our beautiful city became the city of lights as all the Christmas lights throughout the streets were turned on at around 19.00h. The streets flooded with families and friends that had gathered together for the special occasion, filling the bars and restaurants to find the perfect spot to be at for the switch on. Whilst listening to the tunes of Christmas songs and live bands on many of the street corners, you might have also caught various acrobats and circus artists entertaining the passerbyers.

This splendid occasion starts off the Festive season here on the island and from now on we’ll be enjoying our hot chocolates or mulled wine under the twinkly lights in the quaint streets of the old town. If you’d like to catch the best street for lights, this would be to take a stroll down the Borne from one end to another, it is a delightful winter wonderland scenario.

Make sure you also make time for visiting some of the islands festive Christmas Markets, where you’ll find delicious local food as well as goods and trinkets that make perfect Christmas presents.

This time of year is perfect for shopping, what with Black Friday lasting longer than a week in many stores and with the shops staying open till past 20.00h it gives us plenty of time to hit the shops for some Christmas shopping!
